F.P.Walshe is a grade 6-12 school in the town of Fort Macleod Alberta (pop. 3117), which is located at the junction of highways 2 and 3 in southern Alberta. It is a rural school whose population is roughly an even mix of town students, rural students from the surrounding area, and students who travel from two reserves: the Kainai reserve to the south, and the Piikani reserve from the west. Walshe serves families from a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds living in each of these areas.
Walshe is a community of learners who base their learning philosophy on the circle of courage. We do our best to support and work on all four aspects of this circle: mastery, belonging, independence, and generosity.
